Roy City "Yard of the Month"

We are pleased to announce that the Roy City Council has approved a new awards program, proposed by the Beautification Committee: Roy City Yard of the Month

We want to celebrate examples of beautiful front yard landscaping throughout our town. The recently-approved Roy City General Plan identified 8 broad "neighborhoods" in the city, based largely upon when the area was developed, so there will be 8 winners each month. This year the judging will be done in early July, August, and September. Winners will be selected by the Mayor and Council as they explore assigned areas of our town, using the following criteria: use of plants/color, maintenance, water efficiency, and overall design.

Each winning front yard owner will receive a certificate to keep, and will be asked to display a sign in their yard for 30 days. The yards will be listed on the Roy City Facebook page and shared to relevant groups, displayed permanently on the City website, and possibly featured in Roy Connection magazine.

Roy City neighborhoods have been split into 8 separate areas based on the General Plan that was passed through City Council in 2023. The area representatives are listed below.
