  • State statute requires a budget for all general, enterprise, special revenue, debt service and capital projects funds within a city. The budget is subject to a public hearing prior to adoption and prior to any increases. Budgets for enterprise funds may be increased without a public hearing.

For cities, budgets without a proposed tax increase shall be adopted by June 22nd. A copy of the adopted budget must be submitted to the State of Utah within 30 days of adoptions.

Throughout the year, the budget may be adjusted to better reflect the operational needs of the City.  Any adjustments that increase or decrease the budget require a public hearing and approval by the City Council.
