We have Life guard classes we are offering in April, May and June. These classes are limited to people who want to work for the Roy Aquatic Center and Complex only.
We have discounted all of our  life guard classes (if you commit to work at the Roy Aquatic Center for the summer from May 25th to Sept 2nd) to $50.00 a savings of $100.00 
* You would need to register for those classes at the Roy Parks and Recreation building between 9-5pm in person to receive the discount price please *

Lifeguard Class Prerequisites
Red Cross

• Must be 15 years old before the final schedule class date. 
• Must be able to swim 150 yards continuously using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both. ( swimming on your back or side is not permitted. Swim googles are recommended) Maintain position at the surface of the water for 2 minutes by treading water using only the legs, swim 50 yds  using front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both.
• Must be able to swim 20 yards using front crawl or breaststroke, surface dive and retrieve a 10-pound object and then swim back to the starting point in under 1 minute and 40 seconds. Exit the water without using a ladder or steps.
