UDOT Project No. S-I15-8(159)338
The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is preparing an Environmental Assessment to evaluate the short and long-term needs of 5600 South (State Route [SR] 97) from 3500 West (SR-108) to the Hill AFB North Gate, and the Interstate 15 (I-15) interchange. UDOT advises all interested persons or groups that an official Public Hearing (on-line and open house formats) will be held for this project. The purpose of the project is to reduce congestion and improve safety. The Environmental Assessment (EA) has been prepared for this project which defines the scope of the project, potential for environmental impact, and mitigation measures which might reduce adverse environmental impacts.
The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being or have been carried out by UDOT pursuant to 23 USC 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated January 17, 2017, and executed by FHWA and UDOT. The proposed project will be processed as an individual evaluation under Section 4(f) and is considered an adverse effect under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, as amended (54 U.S.C. § 300101 et seq.).
