| Patrol Division
The Patrol Division includes one Deputy Chief / Division Commander, five patrol sergeants, eighteen patrol officers, one police K9 officer, and the Records Section. The patrol officers are assigned to rotating shifts according to a daily / hourly breakdown of workload. All shifts are supervised by a patrol sergeant. A minimum staffing requirement of three officers is maintained. Crews consist of one sergeant and up to four officers. Priorities of the Patrol Division include crime suppression, safety and health concerns and community involvement. The Patrol Division Commander works days and manages the overall operation of patrol activities, officer training, records management, dispatch center operations, Homeland Security and equipment management. |

| Investigations Division
The division is supervised by a Deputy Chief / Division Commander and consists of Detectives, Special Function Officers, Court Security, School Crossing Guards, and Animal Control. A sergeant is responsible for investigations and has five detectives assigned to handle the investigation and follow up of property crimes, forgery, fraud, robbery, assault, homicide, sex offenses, domestic violence and crimes against children. A sixth detective is assigned to an undercover assignment with the Metro Narcotics Task Force. The Special Functions Section consists of a sergeant and four School Resource Officers (SROs). Roy High School, Sandridge Jr. and Roy Jr. are each assigned an individual School Resource Officer. The fourth SRO provides DARE education and law enforcement at the six elementary schools in the city. The four officers assigned to the schools provide on-site assistance to the nine schools located in Roy and four additional schools that Roy residents attend. Duties for these officers include investigating crimes occurring at the schools, or by students attending the schools. They are involved in helping students, strategic planning with educators and school administrators and in school activities such as dances and athletic events for added security. Additionally, these officers investigate all gang related crimes, and educate the community and other officers in gang awareness. During the summer months when schools are not in session, these officers focus on warrant service and sex offender registry enforcement. In addition to supervising the four SROs, the Special Functions Sergeant handles sex offender registration and supervises the two Animal Control officers. |

| By contract, crime scene evidence gathering is provided by the Weber County Crime Scene Investigation Unit, and communication / dispatch services are by the Weber County Consolidated Dispatch Center. |
